We seek to publish the finest thought-provoking, well-researched and creative writing on fashion, entertainment, art and culture. Our readers are professional, stylish, sophisticated and jet set. They balance work and play, form and function and public life with privacy. For Vanichi’s Fashion Editorial Submissions Guidelines, keep scrolling down. Please do not submit full articles without a query letter first unless it is for the sections specified below. Written Submission Requirements Please submit original content. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. Vanichi Magazine retains first publication rights and the right to reuse or modify content. As a guest contributor, content submissions are unpaid. Featured writers and experts will benefit from attribution, maximized exposure to our global readership and a backlink to their own site. All submissions should be: Submitted in their entirety; please check length requirements per section Unique, creative, timely, and relevant Narrative-like, news or opinion Correct in spelling and grammar Evidential of sources (e.g. quotations, references, links) In general, all submissions should be grammatically correct with no spelling errors or slang and follow the Chicago Manual of Style. Departments Vanichi covers the following Departments: Fashion Beauty Technology Entertainment Events Art & Culture Design Interiors Interviews Sections The following Sections accept unsolicited contributor and freelance submissions: Style + Substance: This is a fashion-focused style file open to men and women of all professions who use their fashion sense to create a career edge or showcase their imagination. Photos must be of you and you must own the photo. No bathroom mirror shots or selfies. Must include a short narrative about who you are, what you do and how your style enhances your career. Profile Length: 350-500 words Examples of Style + Substance: Kirsten Woodwards | Style + Substance Vision: These are profiles and interviews with the of the movers, shakers and risk takers that are shaping and reshaping in entertainment, fashion, art and culture. Please familiarize yourself with our magazine before submitting to understand style and structure. Feature Profile Length: 1,000-2,400 words Short Profile Length: 250-500 words Examples of VISION pieces: On Point with Jason George Voice: These are question and answer [Q+A] interviews with fresh voices in fashion, beauty, art, culture and entertainment profiles. Length: 450-500 words Examples of VOICE pieces: Daniel Pierce + Custom Painted TOMS Side X Side: These are images that compare/contrast people, places and things to show their surprising similarities or shocking differences. Images submitted must be your own. You must state when and where the photo was taken and you will have to sign a photo release form. If you wish to submit a short blurb about the subject of the photo, we might publish your words as well as your image. Length: 350-575 words. Must have accompanying, high-quality photo of the subject Examples of SIDE X SIDE: Human vs Computer Made Poetry Verge: First-person stories that describe moments of personal discovery related to unique travel, adventure or highly-unusual cultural events such as Coachella, Jacob’s Pillow, Kanamara Matsui… nothing is off limits. Length: 1,500-3,750 words Examples of VERGE pieces: Lindsey Labrum | Cloud of Water Fair Trade: Highlighting fair trade goods and services and/or products that give back by donating a certain portion of proceeds to charitable causes or projects. Stories should delve into the product/founder’s background and inspiration, description and causes. This includes models, by consenting to your image to be submitted within an editorial, webitorial or advertorial feature you are giving Vanichi Magazine the permission to use your image without compensation. Photographers please note that if accepted and published you are giving photo and art department the permission to disseminate, alter and title your story as they see fit in keeping with the feel and branding of the magazine. If you have any artistic disapproval we will kindly remove the story for you. VIDEOS -We accept fashion videos for Vanichi TV that correlate to the submitted story. Again, be fresh and innovative in your creations. We directly respond to as many submissions as possible. If we do not respond within 1 month of submission, kindly consider it a refusal. It is not necessary to send the same submission several times.
