At 17, Malala Is Youngest Nobel Peace Prize Winner Vanichi 08/10/2014 India’s Kailash Satyarthi and Pakistan’s Malala Yousafzai have been awarded the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize and will split the $1 Million prize equally. At just 17 years of age, Malala has become the youngest ever recipient of the award for her work in youth and women’s rights. She rose to global renown two years ago when she survived being shot in the head by the Taliban for writing an anonymous blog advocating education for all young girls in Pakistan. The youth activist has seen gone on a global press tour promoting education and has spoken to the United Nation. Malala also recently received the 2014 Dan Eldon Catalyst Award at Creative Visions’ Turn On LA.
