Hollywood’s best and brightest gathered at the Four Season’s Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills for the seventh year of Variety’s Power of Women Luncheon on October 10th. Award recipients this year were Viola Davis, Jane Fonda, Jennifer Lopez, Reese Witherspoon and Universal Pictures chair, Donna Langley.

The star-studded event included A-list celebrities, luxury auction items and a gourmet lunch but the main reason for the festivities is helping women in all countries have better lives.

“I grew up believing service is the rent you pay for living life,” said Fonda who founded the Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Power and Potential, a US organization specializing in providing help with teen pregnancies through working partnerships, public and private agencies such as United Way.

Each woman received the “Lifetime Impact” award for their respective charities. Jennifer Lopez for The Lopez Family Foundation, Reese Witherspoon for the Malala Fund, Langley for Vital Voices, a international human rights charity (that helped 2014 Nobel Peace Prize winner, Malala Yousafzai) and Viola Davis for raising 4.5 million in a year for Hunger Is. The charity especially struck home with Davis. She talked about her impoverished childhood and hoped such poverty can be “eradicated and they can go about the business of being who they are.”

‘Power’ was presented by Lifetime Television and sponsored by Saint Vintage, Audi, Moroccanoil, Palter DeLiso, Coca-Cola and Demarest Films. One hundred percent of Saint Vintage sales from Power of Women’s Philanthropy Bazaar were donated to Stand Up 2 Cancer.
