Luxury branded residences are an immediate way for property developers to combine marketing savvy with high-end design. The London West Hollywood Hotel recently opened The Penthouse Inspired by Vivienne Westwood. Designed by the fashion powerhouse, it goes for USD $25,000 a night. Westwood isn’t the only luxury brand putting its design cred on high end real estate. Bulgari has the Bulgari Residences at Knightsbridge. Armani/Casa designed the Armani Residences in Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building. Now, Armani has partnered for a project in Beijing, China with Chinese real estate company Smart Hero Group. Through Armani/Casa, the architectural arm of Giorgio Armani Group, they have announced plans to create designer Armani luxury residences at the eco-building Hero-Central Park Plaza. The group will design the common areas and amenities as well as some luxury apartments. The result is sure to infuse the Beijing residence with the Italian brands unique approach to comfortable, clean, sophisticated and harmonious interior design. Since 2003, the Armani/Casa Interior Design Studio has operated under the creative director of fashion icon Giorgio Armani. It provides its services to select individuals and property developers. The studio consults on selection of materials, colors, finishes, furnishings, custom pieces and built-ins to create one-of-a-kind spaces for each project. Other recent spaces include Maçka Residences in Istanbul, Turkey, The World Towers in Mumbai, India and Century Spire, in Manila, Philippines. The Hero-Central Park Plaza is located in Beijing’s Central Business District. It’s surrounded by Chaoyang Park, the largest urban park in Asia. It’s design, lead by architect Ma Yasong, takes inspiration from the natural world and China’s natural landscape of peaks, mountain ridges and greenery. The building is expected to open the residences in 2017.
