Rolls-Royce Phantom VII ceases production.

The luxuriously iconic Rolls-Royce Phantom VII will end production in November 2016. This is bad news for those hoping for new models of the Phantom Coupé and Drophead Coupé but Rolls-Royce promises a silver lining. Dubbed as the Zenith editions, the luxury car brand will be offering 50 examples of each. Zenith will be launching in 2017 and 2018.

According to CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös, Rolls-Royce is hyper-focused on perfecting the Phantom VIII through “more charisma and edge”. The next generation promises cutting-edge technology and design, low emissions and semi-autonomous driving systems. There’s even the possibility of hybrid and electric gears.

“As the name promises, Zenith is the best of its kind, the highest standard achievable by which everything else is judged,” states Rolls-Royce design boss, Giles Taylor. “Zenith will be the sum of all the best features of Phantom Coupé and Drophead Coupé, with a few surprises added. We expect huge demand for these 50 fine motor cars as we shall not look upon their like again.”
