AMC screened the already critically-acclaimed ‘The Night Manager’ with stars Tom Hiddleston, Hugh Laurie and more…

Tom Hiddleston, Hugh Laurie and the other stars of AMC’s ‘The Night Manager’ were on the scene at a Director Guild’s screening in Los Angeles last week. The stars executive produced the adaption of the John le CarrĂ© novel into a six-part spy thriller for BBC that will make its way to AMC on April 19. Hiddleston plays the night manager Jonathan Pine, a former soldier who gets entangled with a charming but homicidal international arms dealer named Richard “Dicky” Roper, portrayed by Laurie.

Set in sweeping locations that range from Spain to Sweden to Morocco, the tense storyline involves murder, espionage, romance and more.

Before you get too excited and think there will be more seasons for this suspenseful story, think again. There are no plans for that as it seems the story will be limited to this completed portrayal of le CarrĂ©’s novel. Despite that news, the critical acclaim for the We hope to see the two in something else in the future, especially considering the admiration Mr. Hiddleston expressed for Laurie when he spoke with Vanichi. “He’s brilliant,” Hiddleston declared of Laurie. “He draws you in and makes you really like his character. Then, he shows you exactly who he is”.

Fans of the novel might especially like the adaptation of Olivia Colman’s character. Originally a man named Leonard Burr in the book, Colman plays pregnant spy Angela Burr, created a whole new daring dimension to the agent.

“The Night Manager” will premiere on AMC on April 19.
